		<description>I think your comment about the relationship between rent prices and home sale prices applies to much of California as well, especially Silicon Valley.  However, we are now seeing softer rents, so that correction appears to be underway as well.

While the lowering of rental values is great for renters, it&#039;s another blow to property owners.  In many cases, folks who bought condos or townhomes in our San Jose area would like to rent them out if forced to leave the area, but they would see too much of a monthly loss and are faced with the choice of pouring money into each each month or allowing it to move toward short sale or foreclosure.  It&#039;s not a choice many of these trapped folks want to have to make and it is compounding the housing mess here.
