Hope Edwards, 18, of Lincoln and Madison Cunningham, 13, of Papillion today were named Nebraska's top two youth volunteers for 2012 by The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, a nationwide program honoring young people for outstanding acts of volunteerism.

It began with a mass email to more than 400 people.
